WHAT IS DERMAL FILLER
Dermal filler or Soft tissue fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As people age, the natural loss of the skin’s collagen, hyaluronic acid and elasticity results in wrinkles and a loss of fullness in the face, especially around the eyes, mouth, cheeks, jaw line, brow and nose. The injection of soft-tissue fillers (e.g., Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, Sculptra, Belotero) into these areas can temporarily improve the skin’s appearance.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Derma Filler uses Hyaluronic Acid and similar substances to ‘fill in’ or ‘plump’ the area that have lost volume and smoothness. The procedure is minimally invasive. Dermal Filler is injected in the dermis to deep dermis depending on the area to be treated. The procedure is targeted to reduce deep folds and wrinkles as well to restore loss of volume.
HA based fillers are hydrophilic having the ability to hold 1000 times its own weight. It also causes neocollagenesis by activating dermal fibroblasts due to stretch of the tissue, thereby making these more popular to use. It is a reversible filler with the effect lasting from 6-18 months depending upon its cross linking .

HOW SOON THE RESULT IS VISIBLE

Full effect of the fillers can be seen in about 15 days . It is very important to adhere to the advice given by your injector to prevent post procedure complications.
HOW MUCH FILLER DO I NEED
It depends on the area being treated. Your aesthetic Injector will carefully assess and examine the area and advise on the quantity of filler needed to define or restore volume loss in that area.
HOW LONG THE RESULTS/EFFECT LASTS

treated. Some fillers last 6 months while others can last for up to 2 years.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS/
COMPLICATIONS OF DERMAL FILLER
Like any other injectable treatment Dermal fillers have side effect ranging from mild to severe.
There is an intricate vascular structure in the facial region. An inadvertent injection of dermal filler
into this vascular structure can lead to complications such as necrosis. It is therefore crucial that
you get this treatment done by a trained Aesthetic Doctor/dentisit/nurse who are well versed in the
facial anatomy to avoid any grave complication.
Other minor side effects include bruising, swelling and mild pain that usually goes away within 48
hrs. It is important that you follow post treatment advise of your Injector to get the most out of this
HOW MUCH DOES A DERMAL FILLER COST
Pricing depends on the amount of filler used.
It is essential that the person treating you is fully-qualified and well trained otherwise you could be
left with a problem, or with the results you are not happy with. However, dermal fillers can be
dissolved with an enzyme, so corrective treatments can be made if necessary
